Vento started operations 7 years ago but only for export.
We introduced our products to the U.S.A. 11 months ago, as of 12/17-03 Vento Motorcycle is a company focused on building motorcycles and motor scooters. Vento sources components from around the world and assembles these into high-quality products for distribution in Europe, Latin American and North America. Vento's motor scooter line uses engines from Qianjiang Motors (QJ), a Chinese Company with over 14,000 employees. QJ is ISO 9001 Certified and currently produces over 1,000,000 units annually.
But is it Street Legal in my State ?
Vento Phantom R4 is street legal in all 50 states and carries DOT and C.A.R.B certification.
Mine is a 2003 Vento Phantom R4i, A 124cc 4 stroke single with a Qianjiang Motors QJ153QMI-3 Mine is a Tuesday build , Aug. 5 2003
Some things to look at:
1. The front brake caliper the flat rubber plug on the side pull it off and make sure the allen head bolt is tight.
2. Remove the storage box under the seat, make sue the carb is seated all the way forward.
3. Remove the air cleaner cover under the seat all the way to the front and make sure the pre-filter is on straight.
4. look under the gas tank and look for any kinks in the gaslines.
5. If you want it to last, don't beat it untill you got 300 miles on it.
6. Check the tires pressures, go over all screws and bolts you can get at.
7. Replace all of the fuel lines as soon as you can, the oem lines are Junk.
Engine Maintenance
At 100 miles I dumped the oil, lower sideways bolt on left side of engine and cleaned the screen, big chrome flanged nut toward right side pointing down and I put in a little less than a quart of Casteroil GTX that will be in untill 300 miles when the Mobil 1 synthetic goes in.
At 150 miles I drained the drive unit, 1 bolt at bottom of unit 1 about halfway up on side toward rear, 10mm bolts, mine are marked 8.8 , it matches the bottom drain bolt,I put in Mobil 1 synthetic Hypoid gear oil. You can change this oil as soon as you get your scooter, before you break it in.
Tune-Up
As far as tune-up miles goes, every 1000 miles, oil change/clean screen, drive oil too, CDI ignition, spark plug @10,000 miles maybe 20,000 miles, air cleaner, I look at every 1000 miles when I do the oil, go over all the screws & nuts after 250 miles and every 1000 after.
